Career: Enjoy the design

With the nature of core labor changing to temporary assignments and dejobbing setting in the organized sector,  the fact that dependency on permanent life long jobs with a particular organization is nothing but a dream has been comprehended by younger as well as older generations by now. With the beginning of the 21st century, the dejobbing and shift to temporary assignments were prevalent in advanced economies such as the US, Britain, France, etc. The trend has now set in countries such as India, Bangladesh, and other developing nations. What could be the implication?

As the workers are unsettled more, uncertainty crawled in their life, and there is unrest within. Whether they can cope up? The answer could be yes, with the proper kind of career intervention and resultant design of life.  As the predictable trajectories and stable structures of jobs are lost, the expectations on the pattern and structure of jobs faded and resultantly life also is at stake. To make it more stable and hopeful for the generations seeking and impacted, a career intervention strategy needs to be developed from the student life stage.

Now, the unsettling of jobs has allowed oneself to identify the vocation one has an interest as well as aptitude. When the aptitude is rightly set in, the right kind of mentoring and training can enable him to attain skills and capabilities in the field of interest.  It is important to skill, reskill and upskill at the life learning points of different stages of life, without losing sight of the life one is building on. This exercise has relevance, as the time and space spent in skilling in the interested capabilities identified, will prove to be idyllic in one's life designing journey.
